Fox has developed a cross-country race fork for 2017. Its great to see Fox Suspension make an effort to address the cross country segment and make their forks lighter. The new Fox 32 SC (Step-Cast) weighs right at 3 pounds with an uncut steerer tube and 15 mm bolt-on axle according to multiple sources. This makes the Fox 32 SC the lightest fork Fox has made to date.
At the core of this new fork is a new chassis design constructed with the goal of saving weight. Fox engineers approached the initiative with light weight in mind so they made the crown smaller and so the upper tubes have a 120 mm spacing vs. 130 mm standard forks, then they made the upper tubes shorter. In all you save weight and do not forfeit ride quality.
